This hands-on foundation course is ideal for beginners or anyone looking to refine their technique. It’s split into two sections—Drawing and Classical Oil Painting—which can be booked individually or together as a full foundation programme.

 

Drawing Course for Beginners

5 x 3-hour sessions
Fee: £227

A step-by-step introduction to core drawing skills that build confidence and strengthen observational abilities.

Topics covered:

• Line drawing

• Positive & negative space

• Tonal values (light, medium, dark)

• Drawing from still life and plaster casts

• Mediums: pencil & charcoal

🖌️ Practical Details

• Courses run on Monday or Tuesday afternoons, 13:30–16:30pm

• You can choose to start at the beginning of term or join the oil painting course after half term

• All materials are included, including specialist glazes, pigments, brushes, canvas, pencils, charcoal, and paper

Please bring:

• A few old rags and cotton buds (for oil painting sessions)

• Comfortable, old clothes and indoor shoes
